It consumes a fraction of the water and energy to give your laundry a superior wash.  The System 2000 18 pound capacity washer uses a 1/2 HP motor, like a typical full size washer, but it uses an electronically controlled universal motor with very low starting surge.  A complete load of wash consumes only 165 watt hours.  That equates to only 15 amp hours from 12 volt battery, or the output of one 50 watt PV module in 5 hours of sun.
